7 Best Wine Tasting Spots on the Sonoma Plaza (2025 Guide)

Written by: Lauren Strojny

Spring is finally here in Sonoma wine country! With the vineyards showing their buds and wildflowers dancing in between the rows, this is a great time to visit Sonoma. The Downtown Sonoma Plaza offers many wine tasting experiences with 30+ wine tasting rooms in its four-square blocks, all of which is easily walkable. Spend an afternoon strolling around the boutique shops, and sipping on wines from all over Sonoma County and beyond. Below I have shared all of my favorite places to wine… off the Sonoma Plaza!

1. SIGH. CHAMPAGNE & SPARKLING

All Sparkling 🥂🍾

Tastings $18-85 with 4 sparkling flight options, wines by the glass or by the bottle

Walk-ins welcome, no reservations available, first come first serve.

Location: 120 W Napa St, Sonoma, CA 95476

Now Sigh is not a winery or a specific wine brand, but a sparkling bar. With a stunning interior, decorated to match that Champagne feeling. A fun spot to enjoy a flight of bubbles, with cheese & charcuterie platters, and small bites available. This would be a great first spot to toast to your trip to Sonoma.

2. THREE STICKS WINE at the Adobe

Pinot Noir & Chardonnay

Tastings $55-$120 (offer 3 experiences one includes a food pairing)

Reservations required

Location: 143 W Spain St, Sonoma, CA 95476

Coined “The Adobe Experience” enjoy a walking tour of the Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe home for an intimate tasting experience. With two tasting options, choose a guided seated tasting in one of their incredible spaces, or a culinary experience paired with local bites. Tastings here are by reservations and do not permit dogs or guests under the age of 21. Bonus if you are a club member they have a great lounge to enjoy wines by the bottle, glass, or member flight.

3. BEDROCK WINE CO

Under the Wire (Sparkling label) + Caviar Tasting $175 per guest

Recently opened to the public, this place has a HUGE following. Reservations required.

Location: 414 1st St E, Sonoma, CA 95476

Bedrock wine is one of the most exclusive on my list. Most of their wine is sold through their mailing list and they just recently opened their doors to the public to taste their wines. Enjoy a tasting in the historic General Joseph Hooker House, 1852 home that includes a curated exhibit of mid-19th century photos, keep a small museum of Sonoma history. As vintners of Hooker’s old vineyard, this is a special tasting reuniting the home with the wines from Joseph's historic vineyard.

4. PANGLOSS CELLARS

Wine varietals for everyone, sparkling, rose, whites, reds+

Tastings: $30-75

Open by prior reservation

Location: 35 E Napa St, Sonoma, CA 95476

With multiple flight offerings and cheese & charcuterie to enjoy in a 115-year-old architectural gem that has rich in Sonoma history. Pangloss Cellar’s motto is “a celebration of Sonoma” in which they have crafted a number of different wines from different varietals to showcase the diversity in grape varieties grown within Sonoma. Named after Dr. Pangloss, the eternal optimist in Voltaire’s novel Candide, Pangloss focuses on optimism as the best way to approach life and wine. Pangloss focuses on mountain-grown grapes and organic vineyards and is a great introduction to the Moon Mountain AVA with an easy location off the downtown square. Head over to Repris (their second brand) located on Moon Mountain for an estate experience next!

5. EXTRA DIMENSIONAL WINE CO. YEAH!

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and cool blends! Yeah!

Extradimensional Wine Co. Yeah! is the bold, boundary-pushing project of Hardy Wallace, redefining California winemaking with high-energy, small-batch creations. Known for its wild labels and even wilder wines, this micro-winery blends artistry with minimal intervention to craft expressive, thought-provoking bottles. Every sip is an adventure—unexpected, electric, and unmistakably Extradimensional.
