Adelaida Hilltop Experience: The Ultimate Paso Robles Wine Tasting with Breathtaking Views

Adelaida Vineyards & Winery’s Hilltop Wine Tasting Experience

While many might argue that wine tasting is enjoyable no matter the setting, I see it differently. Some wineries elevate the experience to a whole new level, making it truly memorable. Ask yourself: Did I learn about the winery and the wines they produce? Was I personally attended to with each pour? Did the ambiance create a warm, welcoming atmosphere? By paying attention to these details, you’ll discover what truly makes a wine experience stand out.

Unique wine experiences are key for deepening our connection to a winery’s brand. In my Six Star Experience Series, I’ll take you through which winery visits left me in awe and explain what made it next level—so to say what made it “above and beyond” a five-star review.

This week, I’m featuring Adelaida Vineyard’s Hilltop Experience, in Paso Robles, California.

The Featured Experience

Winery: Adelaida Vineyards in Paso Robles, California The Experience:  Signature Hilltop Experience Overview: This private hilltop experience allows guests to savor a curated selection of Adelaida’s signature series wines while enjoying an artisanal cheese and charcuterie board. Set on top of Paso’s highest elevation site at 2320 feet! The views and wine are next level!

What Makes It Above and Beyond?

·       Highest Peak in Paso Robles: Perched at an impressive 2,320 feet, this breathtaking hilltop venue provides sweeping panoramic views, all nestled beneath majestic oak trees. Adelaida proudly claims the title of the highest peak in Paso Robles, and it’s also the charming namesake of their wine club.

·       Luxury Feel: The grounds are meticulously manicured, creating a stunning landscape that feels truly above the clouds. This isn't your typical tasting space—soak in the scenery in comfy seating while you gaze at the amazing views and enjoy some exceptional wines.

·       Custom Car: Upon checking in, you’ll be whisked away in a fun Adelaida van that gently ascends the twists and turns up the estate's peak.

·       Exclusive Offerings: With the hilltop experience, you will be poured wines that are not in the tasting room. This curated selection of Signature-level wines, featuring limited editions and exceptional vintages. It also begins with a surprise and delight sparkling wine, perfectly setting the tone for the journey ahead. You are guided by a personal wine educator to answer any and all questions you might have.

·       Completely Private: What truly makes this experience extraordinary is the privacy. With only one group booked at a time, you and your guests can fully embrace the exclusivity of being alone on a hilltop.

·       Highlights

Located in the heart of the west side off Adelaida Road, the drive in is simply beautiful. We were welcomed in the tasting room with a splash of Picpoul (a zesty Rhône white that means "lip stinger") and then taken up in a private Adelaida car to the highest point in Paso. The tasting was all set up for us in a private picnic alcove overlooking the rolling hills of Paso's vineyards. Under the oaks, we started with a splash of sparkling wine before diving into their Signature wines. I can’t even begin to describe how incredible their wines are—TOP tier! Jeremy Winetraub, the winemaker, also makes his own label, Site Wines, which I highly recommend trying. From their Signature Syrah and Mourvèdre to their Cabernet, I don’t think I could pick a favorite—all from their own estate vineyards! Included with the tasting is a cheese plate from my go-to, Vivant Fine Cheese Co. in Paso. I highly recommend this experience for a larger group or even just a group of four to privately take in the views, wines, and natural beauty of one of Paso’s best spots.
